Stefan Norrgård is a postdoctoral researcher at Åbo Akademi University. Stefan is a climate historian interested in reconstructing historical climates and the historical interaction between humans and climate/weather. In his previous research, Stefan has studied rainfall variability on the Gold Coast in West Africa during the eighteenth century. He is currently engaged in a project funded by the Finnish Cultural Foundation, employing early meteorological observations and newspaper articles to study climatic impact in Turku, Finland, between 1748 and 1809. He is also part of the international Atmospheric Circulation Reconstruction over the Earth (ACRE) initiative.
